USHA’s Spring Conference & 40th Anniversary Celebrations

17 to 19 April 2012

The 40th anniversary comes at a time of change in the health and safety environment so USHA is looking back with fondness over the last 40 years, investigating what the future might hold and exploring solutions through partnerships, sharing and networks.

Keynote speakers include:

• World Champion and Olympic silver medalist Kriss Akabusi
• Professor Ragnar Löfstedt, the Chair of the independent review into Health and Safety commissioned by the UK government
• Stephen Asbury who will explore the team behaviour and culture behind Formula 1 Team Force India’s pit stop accident
• Professor Eric Thomas, President of Universities UK who will give his insight into the future of the UK’s Higher Education sector.

USHA Safety in Fieldwork Project Group shortlisted for a prestigious SHP IOSH Award

The USHA Safety in Fieldwork Project Group was recently shortlisted for a the prestigious SHP IOSH Award for the work it's carried out with UCEA in a joint partnership on the new Field Safety Guidance document.

Chair of the Project Group Andrew Knight says 'although we didn't win on the night it was a huge achievement to be recognised with this nomination'.
