Description
Aston University, School of Engineering & Applied Science, presents A One-day Training Course in the Main Building on Wednesday 9 December 2009
While the introduction of the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations (CDM), in 1994 was an important
change to Construction Health & Safety Law, the 2007 changes take the duties of those involved even further.
This course is important for designers on establishing their duties, under law, and the duties of others, and
includes the changes for clients and the new responsibilities imposed by the Regulations on them.
The course aims to give designers the basic knowledge and understanding of their role in a construction project
by exploring the changes and by explaining the function of the other duty holders.
Using extracts from the Regulations, examples and a short workshop exercise, attendees will finish the day with a
comprehensive guide on their role in future schemes.
This course is presented by a Fellow of the Association for Project Safety (the lead organisation within the UK),
who is also on the Register of Competent CDM Coordinators and a practising CDM Coordinator.
For course availability:
Helen Mallinson 0121 204 3593 or Claire Wallis 0121 204 3624 Fax: 0121 204 3684
These courses are intended to contribute towards the CPD requirements of the relevant professional institutions.
