The North West Wales Health and Safety Regional Group is pleased to launch the new programme with the following full day conference on the 16th September 2009:

The conference programme starts by taking us on a journey that explains:

1. The Government’s vision for the future in Health and Safety
2. How the new HSE strategy is focussed on getting stakeholder involvement to become part of the solution and work together to raise health and safety standards
3. What this strategy means in practice to the HSE inspectors on the front line and to ourselves for our day to day activities
4. What might happen if things go wrong and why it is important to ensure that you have the correct advice if you are ever in the situation of having an interview under caution

Before breaking into practical sessions that consider:

1. Why people do what they do, the differences between leadership and management and how we can use them effectively to motivate people to work safely
2. The importance of selecting the right people for the job and making sure that the job is designed correctly and ergonomically to fit the person

And concluding by considering how effective teamwork helps the Meerkats survive the most in-hospitable climate of the Kalahari Desert!

The conference fee per individual is £30 for members and £50 for non-members, which includes all refreshments, lunch and delegate packs.

Membership is per organisation and only costs £20 for those who have not yet joined. This is the ideal opportunity to complete the enclosed membership form to join and take the benefits of the individual member rate!
