Communication

Meetings

In addition to a three day Annual Conference, the USHA holds at least one other Conference in the year, usually running for one day.  Often these Conferences are held in collaboration with other interested parties.

Publications

The Association produces a publication called Digest, which appears at approximately twelve week intervals, and aims to be an up to date information service for members.  It includes articles, conference papers and reports on issues of interest to members.  Electronic copies of the Digest are published on this site.

USHA also produces Code of Practice and other Guidance for the use of the members.  USHA  works with other organisations in their production.

Individual members also publish papers in national journals, utilising information and data collected on behalf of the Association.

Electronic Discussion Group

USHA has an email discussion group, Hasnet, which includes such topics as fire, occupational health, general safety and radiation, allowing members to exchange information.  Since its launch in 1997 the traffic has increased significantly and Hasnet has become the main means of communication between health and safety professionals in higher education.

Statistical Information

USHA has for many years carried out an annual collation of Accident and Fire statistics across the Higher Education Sector. The data is lodged in the members area but will be made available to interested parties. Please contact the Webmaster for further information.
