Chemsafnet

Chemsafnet is e-mail discussion group for health & safety practitioners, in the university sector, involved in the employment of chemicals (and hazardous substances) in higher education. It is also the means for distribution of information by University Chemical Safety Forum (UCSF). The discussion group is there for members to raise issues about chemical health & safety and a message board for UCSF.  [Our only prerequisite is that members should be either in or connected to higher education].

UCSF membership is a cross section of health and safety officers/advisors/coordinators throughout higher education. Many of UCSf's member universities have a large 'chemical' footprint; mainly in shape of a "Chemistry Department" but this is not exclusively the case. UCSF is an 'inclusive' grouping and has recently established links with USHA.

To join the mailing list please contact:
Dr David Kinnison (Chair of UCSF) or

Dr Elaine Armstrong
(Secretary of UCSF)

We would like to remind users of the hasnet lists that there are also unacceptable uses. The ones that follow should be borne in mind with some of the jokes and powerpoints out on the WWW:

1. the creation or transmission (other than for properly supervised and lawful research purposes) of any offensive, obscene or indecent images, data or other material, or any data capable of being resolved into obscene or indecent images or material;

2. the creation or transmission of material which is designed or likely to cause annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety;

3. the creation or transmission of defamatory material;

As many of the quirky items that you send are large powerpoints it may be an idea to consider zipping them so that mail boxes don't get clogged up. This should reduce the more light hearted and the larger file attachments traffic in hasnet-link et al which has been requested by a number of members
